GammaVision Training Course

GammaVision Gamma Spectroscopy Training
GammaVision Training Class follows an agenda which integrates lecture and student exercises. Topics include:
  • Basic Physics for Gamma Ray Spectroscopy
  • Coverage of typical hardware and software required
  • Hardware Setup and Software Control of Hardware
  • Signal processing for histogram spectra
  • Software utilities for library, calibration (Energy and Efficiency), and analysis parameter setup.
  • Interference Corrections
  • Calculations (Peak Area, Peak Activity, Nuclide activity/concentration, Uncertainty)
  • Minimum Detectable Activities
  • Understanding the report (Understanding the individual GammaVision report sections)
  • Automation
Taking place over 4.5 days, this course combines the theory of gamma spectroscopy measurements with the direct utilization of the GammaVision software application. The training covers the structure of a typical hardware/software configuration and then moves into the application basics and features, including: signal processing basics, nuclide libraries, energy and efficiency calibrations and verifications, analysis results interpretation, counting statistics, analysis settings, uncertainty calculations and interpretation and a basic review of radioanalytical anomalies and example spectra with associated parameters. Advanced spectral review and troubleshooting are also presented. The course is instructor-led with sufficient time for lab exercises using actual instrumentation found in a typical counting lab.

GammaVision Software Training - Wokingham UK - May 15-18, 2023

This GammaVision software training course provides an introduction to gamma-ray spectroscopy for those new to the subject, as well potential improvements to existing working practices to those already engaged in the field. It is primarily intended for analysts, technicians, and anyone else undertaking gamma-ray spectroscopy, although quality assurance officers and data reviewers who need an understanding of gamma-ray spectroscopic measurements using GammaVision will also benefit.

Taking place over 3.5 days, the course is a mixture of lectures and hands-on laboratory-type exercises using representative spectra. The course begins with basic physics for gamma spectroscopy, HPGe detectors and signal processing, followed by in depth instructions of all aspects of the GammaVision software including interface, features, comprehensive gamma spectrum analysis methods, interactive analysis, spectral correction tools, operation automation, QA, reporting and interpretation.

The course registration fee includes all course materials, lunches and refreshments on each day.
The maximum number of registrations is limited for the benefit of attendees, so it is likely to fill quickly.
