August 11-15, 2008 at UNLV (Register) (Registration deadline July 11, 2008) N250IS In-Situ Measurements using Germanium Detectors, Program Isotopic, and the ISO-CART Designed for the intermediate to advanced spectroscopist using Program Isotopic to perform In-Situ Measurements. This course includes setup procedures for configuration for objects, as well as, soil measurements. Most of the main menu items of both the Supervisor and Operator menus will be explained. Other topics include how to setup libraries, quality assurance programs, and detector calibration. Dummy objects with known activity will be measured using the configurations designed earlier in the class. Tuition*: $990.00 per student. Requires minimum of 4 attendees. September 9-11, 2008 (Register) N250GV Gamma Spectroscopy Using Germanium Detectors and GammaVision Gamma Analysis for beginning to intermediate gamma spectroscopists using HPGe detectors. This course begins with setup procedures for the detectors, electronics, computer, and software, followed by instruction on all aspects of the GammaVision interface. Other topics covered are the construction of nuclide libraries and analysis parameter files, and the setup of GammaVision for dedicated tasks. June 23-27, 2008 in Germany (Register) Tuition*: €1200.00 per student. (Excluding VAT.) October 27-31, 2008 in Oak Ridge (Register) (Registration deadline September 26, 2008) Tuition*: $1100.00 per student. Requires minimum of 6 attendees. N300GV Advanced Gamma Spectroscopy Using Germanium Detectors and GammaVision Designed for intermediate to advanced spectroscopists using GammaVision to perform specialized tasks. GammaVision JOB files and command line options, Microsoft® Windows® tools and ORTEC A12 Analysis Files Toolkit will be used to demonstrate task definitions such as specialized reporting and repetitive functions. Tuition*: $990.00 per student. Requires minimum of 4 attendees. N500AV Introduction to AlphaVision Provides an introduction to alpha spectroscopy using AlphaVision. Topics covered include setup of ORTEC alpha spectroscopy units such as the OCTĘTE Plus, detector calibration, analysis parameter definition, data collection and analysis, and Quality Assurance. Tuition*: $990.00 per student. Requires minimum of 4 attendees. N501AV Database Training for AlphaVision 5.32 This course introduces the student to the basics of the AlphaVision 5 database. Students learn the database relationships needed to create custom queries, forms and reports using Microsoft Access. Material is focused on the AlphaVision 5 database and LIMS interface. Tuition*: $660.00 per student. Requires minimum of 4 attendees. N550AV Advanced Alpha Spectroscopy Using AlphaVision Designed for the intermediate to advanced alpha spectroscopist. The course content is similar to N500AV with emphasis on the database and network features. The student will learn how to generate custom reports using Crystal Reports, learn the more advanced blank population, MDA calculation and peak de-convolution features. Tuition*: $660.00 per student. Requires minimum of 4 attendees. Registration is accomplished by submitting the registration form (link below). After the form is submitted, you will receive a return email with payment information requesting a purchase order or credit card for the amount of the tuition. Course capacity is filled in order of the date of receipt of the tuition fee. Students attending the four- and five-day courses should plan to arrive in Oak Ridge on Sunday evening and depart after 4:00 p.m. on the final day. Registration form for Oak Ridge Classes Registration form for UK Classes Tuition Cancellations received at least 20 business days prior to class will receive a full refund or class credit. If a cancellation or reschedule request is received 10-19 business days before the class date, 75% of class tuition will be refunded or class credit. If a cancellation or reschedule request is received within 1-9 days of class date, 50% of tuition cost will be refunded or class credit. Refunds will not be allowed for "no shows." Cancellation Liability Unless otherwise specified, all scheduled training will take place at ORTEC, 801 South Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, approximately 25 miles by car northwest of the Knoxville airport.
