The Universal MCB Interface (UMCBI) Toolkit simplifies the task of controlling ORTEC nuclear multichannel analyzer hardware in a Windows 2000/XP environment.

For programmers developing custom spectroscopy applications, reliable hardware communication is often a major portion of the development, especially in the complex Windows environment, and even more so when local area networks are involved.

The toolkit incorporates many of the programs developed for ORTEC's new CONNECTIONS architecture for local area networks, thereby providing a unified approach to communication with ANY of the wide range of ORTEC Spectroscopy hardware, networked, or standalone. Multitasking, device sharing, and password protection are built into the Toolkit routines. Support and examples are given for programmers working in Microsoft C++ and Visual Basic.
