News Release ORTEC Expands Training Opportunities Globally OAK RIDGE, TN, February 15, 2002– In a continuous effort to provide its global customer base with opportunities to improve their radioactivity measurement processes, ORTEC has joined forces with the National Physics Laboratory, Teddington UK. The first offering at the brand-new state-of-the-art facilities at NPL (completed 2002) is MS101 "Modern Methods in Alpha Spectrometry". The fully-developed course is presented in-tandem by Professor William Burnett (Florida State University) and ORTEC Staff Scientist and Product Manager Michael Schultz. The addition of NPL brings lectures in the fundamentals of measurement uncertainties, approaches to propagation of uncertainties and other important metrology related aspects of the alpha spectrometry process.
