News Release SENTINEL Prevents Nuclear Fuel Contamination of
Primary Loop Sentinel™ tracks user-designated fission products in a nuclear power
plant's primary coolant for signs of imminent fuel failure. It then alerts the operator so
that action can be taken to keep the plant clean. The new, digital
DSPEC™ Spectrometer, a germanium gamma-ray detector, and new native 32-bit
GammaVision™ analysis software comprise a system with unprecedented stability, even
under conditions of widely varying count rate and temperature.
