News Release "Clamp-On" Technique Simplifies Nuclear Plant Water Monitoring A new system from ORTEC® monitors gamma-emitting constituents flowing through pipes at nuclear facilities. The Model OS5500, using a special shielding arrangement to "clamp" around existing pipes, can be installed long after the pipes have been plumbed; no welding, pump systems, or overflow tanks are needed! Three varieties accommodate varying data collection needs: from NIM-based ratemeters to complete advanced analysis systems using ORTEC's new ScintiVision for high-performance NaI spectroscopy.Systems come complete with specially-designed shielding, NaI detector, and all electronics. Many options are available including Windows®-based on-line monitoring software, check source, and calibration sources. The system is designed for fission products, such as Cs-134, Cs-137, Co-57, Co-60, and transuranics Am-241, U-238, and U-235. |
