News Release Practical In-Situ Measurements of Gamma Emitters in the Ground and on Surfaces ORTEC® announces the second generation of M-1 In-Situ Gamma Spectroscopy Systems, for the measurement of nuclide-specific activity in the ground and on surfaces. The system features the high-performance DART® MCA, and the latest 32-bit M-1-B32 software package, which may be used for laboratory samples also, with no compromise in accuracy. M-1 applications range from decontamination of previously-used nuclear sites to routine environmental monitoring near nuclear facilities. Depth depositions such as washed-in contamination are easily handled, as well as surface contamination on the ground, walls, or floors. A unique feature of the M-1 system is that it can be configured using almost ANY HPGe detector -- special calibration methods are not necessary. M-1 may be supplied as a complete, ready-to-go system, including the detector, tripod, MCA, and software. |
