"Holdup" Software Licensed to ORTEC
by Lockheed Martin Energy Systems ORTEC has signed an exclusive license with Lockheed Martin Energy Systems1 for commercialization of their HMS3 Holdup Measurement
System software.
The term "holdup" refers to the accumulation of nuclear
material inside processing equipment at certain nuclear facilities. Accurate holdup
measurements are an important part of nuclear materials accountancy and nuclear safety.
The HMS3 software performs and documents the holdup measurements using
algorithms (developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory) which are the basis of the Holdup
Assay course taught at Los Alamos National Laboratory as part of the USDOE Safeguards
Technology Program.
Operating under Windows® 95, HMS3
holdup software supports a variety of MCA hardware, including the ORTEC MicroNOMAD® and DART® MCAs as well
as the Los Alamos M3CA. |
