News Release
OAK RIDGE, TN, July 11, 2002– The DSP-Scint from ORTEC® is a half-length, plug-in, PCI card for desktop computers. It provides all the support needed for acquiring energy spectra from a NaI(Tl) detector. This includes HV bias for the external PMT base, power for the preamplifier in the tube base, amplification, digital signal processing, and histogramming the energy spectrum. All of this operation is controlled by the ORTEC A65-B32 MAESTRO-32 software that is included with the PCI card. With the CONNECTIONS advantages built into MAESTRO-32, this product easily integrates into the network with the other ORTEC gamma-ray and alpha spectrometers in your laboratory. The ORTEC software runs under Windows® 98 ME/SE, NT V4.0, 2000, or XP. DSP-Scint brings digital signal processing to scintillation detectors. The result is greater flexibility and better stability. In addition to the superior stability of a digital signal processor, a gain stabilizer is included to control the gain drifts that are endemic to NaI(Tl) detectors. |
