A Security System for Electrically-Cooled HPGe Detectors

CryoSecure™, a new power controller from ORTEC^®, protects valuable electromechanically-cooled germanium gamma-ray detectors against an ac power failure that might cause detector damage. CryoSecure, microprocessor-controlled and completely automatic, is used with the ORTEC New ELECTRICOOL™ Cooler. Holding time, warm-up time, and cooling time with bias off, can be programmed for optimum safety with minimal loss of operating time. Designed for worldwide use, CryoSecure operates with input from 100 V to 240 V ac, 47 to 63 Hz.
